Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you for very interesting article. Please find some remarks below.

The title of the article is not very precise. I think that 'the effects' should be replaced by 'the impact' or a similar term.

The term 'Incheon International Airport' is not very clear as there are many companies involved in providing serviced for passengers, such as the airport, various airlines and handling companies. Authors should clarify whether Incheon International Airport is used in a narrower sense (only the company owning the airport) or a broader sense (a conglomerate of separate companies). The term 'Incheon International Airport' is also used interchangeable with 'airport industry' (p. 9 or 11), however measurement items were identified by 'airline experts' (p. 5).

The importance of CSR and reputation in the light of the airport industry (see previous remark) is not explained. It is only written that 'Airports do this by instilling positive perceptions and impacts to airport users via various social, environmental, and economic programs related to corporate social responsibility (CSR)'. What 'social, environmental, and economic programs related to corporate social responsibility (CSR)' are used? This part of the article should be developed further.

In section 2.5. after the sentence 'For the present study, the following hypothesis is presented.' there is no hypothesis. Only at the end of this section hypothesis 6 (H6) is repeated. It is not very clear.

The construct 'CSR' of measurement items consists of environmental and social items, but there are no economic items (see previous remark). There are also more social than environmental items. What does it mean? Maybe the social aspects are more important. Some items are repeated, for instance in the construct 'CSR': 'Incheon International Airport makes an effort to raise funds for social causes' and in the construct 'Reputation': 'Incheon International Airport is known for giving active support to programs with good social causes'.

There is only a description of Table 2 without any conclusions. For instance most respondents use the airport less than twice. So why CSR is so important for the airport? Do customers have any option to change the airport or means of transport? 301 respondents are listed on page 5, on page 7 - 297.

Section 4.5 mentions Table 4 (6?) and there is Figure 3 which is not listed in the article.

There are no conclusions. Only limitations are described.

There are very few publications on the airport industry in the references. I cannot find publications [38] and [39] in the article. Publication [7] is overused. It should clarified.

Reviewer 2 Report

Although general references are rich, CSR literature in aviation and air transport could be developed.  Airports are parts of the air transport system, therefore this connection could be emphasised.

1. The author needs to clearly show the research gap based on the latest literature developments in the field of CSR.

2. In the introduction, give reasons for using CSR, trust, image, and satisfaction as predictors of reputation.

3. In the literature review, this paper has described the CSR concept well. However, this paper has not utilized a background theory that can bridge the relationship between CSR and reputation. The author must emphasize whether the reputation factor is part of public demand or the company's achievements.

4. Previous authors used SEM-PLS to test CSR and reputation, but in this paper, the authors use CFA-based SEM. The author must convey the use of this method in this paper.

5. In managerial implications, this paper needs to offer practical and sustainable social programs for international airports. In addition, the environmental conservation program that the author offers must be relevant to the socio-economic conditions in Korea and measurable in the short and long term.

6. This paper requires proofreading from a professional expert.
