It is worth mentioning that solarized manure has the capacity that, when covered without  albedo plastics, the energy radiated by the sun generates temperatures between 64 and 74 ° C, causing pathogenic organisms such as fungi, bacteria, nematodes, weeds and insects to be killed and eliminated [17].

Reviewer 2 Report

The research work describes the impact of solarized manure's combined application with bacterial inoculant Azospirillum brasilense on the yield and phytochemical quality of tomato. The language/grammar used in the manuscript requires improvement. Several statements lack clarity, precision, and comprehensiveness. The methodological part should be reorganized and clarified. I have listed some comments which help authors to improve their manuscripts.

Line 85: How the solarization affects microbes, e.g. potential human pathogenic bacteria in manure?. Many reports indicate the possible transfer of pathogens from manure in amended soil to vegetables.

Line 100: Please add a source of chemical fertilizers

Line 107: Inoculation of tomato seeds with Azospirillum brasilense (Ab)

The variety could be described in the text.

Line 108: Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, var aladette TOP 2299), please check if correct, please add botanical name and variety name.

Line 108-112: Too long sentence, please revise.

Line 113: ….according to Lin et al. [17] (Please check the whole Manuscript for reference format)

Please check the whole references; some references are given wrongly. For example: [17] should be as: Lin TF, Huang HI, Shen FT, Young CC. The protons of gluconic acid are the major factor responsible for the dissolution of tricalcium phosphate by Burkholderia cepacia CC-Al74. Bioresour Technol. 2006 May;97(7):957-60. doi: 10.1016/j.biortech.2005.02.017. Epub 2005 Dec 13. PMID: 16356711.

But not Ta-Fa et al.

Line 114: according to [18], please add the name

Line 115: Why only Clavibacter michiganensis?, 2% sodium hypochlorite used for all types of microbes?

Lines 120-125, too long sentence, please revise. Please describe the bacterial growth procedure in the medium as well.

Line 126: what it means “during 10 s”

The field side's plant growth condition should be described in detail, temperature, lights, sowing, growth length, climate irrigation, etc.

Line 145: “according to [20], and fungi, according to [21]." Please check the whole MS for reference format

Line 148: How have you identified fungal pathogens, molecular biological tools? Please describe in detail. Why were other soil biological properties not measured? Microbial diversity, soil enzymes etc.

Line 169: 2.8.Treatments and experimental design” This part should be moved above, where treatments were described.

Line 181: “ was calculated [22]:" according? Please check citation format.

Line 184: “o the arc-sin” not clear.

Line 230: what means quantification of bacteria? The microbial diversity of rhizosphere? Or the survival of inoculated bacteria. Please clarify and revise this part. Why were the samples not taken during the growth stage, but only at harvest? All these measurements should also be described in the aim of the study.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript describes how manure and biostimulants work to enhance tomato growth and yield. The topic is suitable for this journal. However, greater attention needs to be placed on numerous minor grammatical changes to improve readability of the manuscript. The article topic is interesting, conducted properly, and analyzed suitably.

line 17 and 18. I don't see the need for this sentence in the abstract as it is not directly related to the topic. Also, this scientific approach could be used outside of Mexico or the region in Mexico where the research was conducted.

Line 101. The nutritional content of the fertilizer could be expressed in terms of percentage N, P, and K.

paragraph 108. There needs to be an introduction to the use of A. brasilense for crops. How long has it been used? For what crops? What is the mode of action? How has it been productive? In other words, there needs to be a comprehensive paragraph describing the use of A. brasilense to justify this study.

Line 173. How many tomato plants per replicate? Or 1 plant constituted 1 of the 14 replicates? Please explain.

Paragraph 246. Please explain the importance of seedling growth rate with first few days of emergence. How is this relevant

Line 467. I think reference to SARs is not relevant to this study and should be removed.

REVISOR 1

Over 50 % of used references were older than 10 years. Part "Matherials and methods" should be inproved, for exaple it is not clear how determination of lycpene was carried out?!

The oldest references were changed, it can be seen in the document in references

REVISOR 1

Only 1/3 references used in Discussion are issued in the past 5 years.

The changes in the older references were considered, it can be seen in the document in references

Line 85: How does solarization affect microbes, p. Eg possible human pathogenic bacteria in manure? Many reports indicate the possible transfer of pathogens from manure in modified soil to vegetables.

In line 99 a sentence is attached enriching the effect of solarization on microorganisms

We can also justify that,

In aspects of food safety, and in organic crops, the manure that will be used goes through a sanitary certification where it shows the absence of food safety pathogens such as Klebsiella pnseuomiae, Salmonella spp, Campylobacter pp and Escherichia coli, Clostridium perfringens

In the present study, the variety TOP 2299 (Ahern Seeds®), type saladess, was evaluated; It is characterized by being a vigorous plant, strong bearing and with thick stems, medium internodes, with intermediate-late production cycles. Good development at high temperatures in spring-summer cycles. Fruits of large sizes, average 160 to 200 grams, maintain their size throughout the production cycle. In this phase, seeds were treated by means

Paragraph was changed by:

In this phase, seeds were treated by means of a sterile distilled water wash to eliminate excess dyes and chemical products. Seeds were immersed in 70% alcohol for 10 sec and then carrying out three washes with sterile distilled water. Next, another disinfection with 2% sodium hypochlorite was carried out for 2 min, followed by washing with sterile distilled water according to [17].

We request that it be added to agree with the introduction of the importance of consuming probiotic horticultural products such as tomato, properties that strengthen the body and more in this international biosecurity contingency

which is desirable in these days when the world population demands to be fed with plant products rich in biomolecules that mitigate the aggressiveness of a causal agent such as SARS-Covid-19; important properties that, due to their health effects, suggest that they prevent the risks of acquiring chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases [69].

Reviewer 3 Report

1.  The authors did not incorporate my reviewer concerns into their revision.  They responded to the comments but did not make most corrections.  I strongly feel that these corrections need to be made.   2.   There was not a revision made to correct the numerous grammatical errors throughout the manuscript.  This needs to be done before I can accept the manuscript as complete and suitable.

Author Response

Note to Reviewer number 3:

Dear Dr., Reviewer number 3, we apologize if we were not explicit at the time of making known how we made your observations. WE REITERATE OUR APOLOGIES.

We want to clarify that on this second occasion, we developed your observations in another way ... in this new version and due to the changes that were made on the 1st occasion by all the reviewers, THE LINES THAT YOU INDICATE IN YOUR 1st OBSERVATIONS THEY were WALKED ... IN EACH OBSERVATION THAT YOU MAKE US, IN THE THIRD COLUMN WE INDICATE YOU IN WHICH LINE THAT CHANGE WAS LEFT.

The authors hope this satisfy the standard to be accepted by the editorial advisory board.
