Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Editor/Author

Knowing the beneficial health effects of turnip green and tops in terms of synthesized secondary metabolites such a study is welcome.

The submitted manuscript represents a very valuable and intriguing work report, focused on the great diversity regarding the flowering time, the fresh and dry weight of the leaves but also of the turnip buds.

Abstract: concise, descriptive, emphasizing the idea, aim of the present study.

Introduction: very well written, well documented with relevant literature and it is able to introduce and familiarize with the subject of the study, in a very gradual and logical way.

Results: are presented in a concise, easy to follow manner, using the research from The Web of Science, Google Scholar etc

My conclusion is that this paper is valuable and interesting using relatively recent bibliography.

Therefore, I think that the manuscript is suitable for publication after the modification on the text and redo the bibliography according to the requirements of the Agronomy journal.

I would have a remark that does not erase the value of this work means to modify the figure 1,2 and 4 and to complete it with the units of measurement.

A.A: The authors would like to thank the reviewer for the positive comments. The manuscript has been revised with your suggestions.

According the reviewer, the Figure 2 has been modified with the units of measurement on the Y axis. However, the Figures 1 and 4 have not been modified because they include several traits with different units of measurement and therefore, these units cannot be displayed on Y axis. Therefore, units of measurement have been included and explained in the description of the figures.

The references have been modified according to journal requirement.
