Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

It is a very interesting work in a species that, according with the authors, I consider very important for the future's agricolture and it deserves special attention and in-depth studies like this one.
There are just a few observations:
- the first is as follows (in the introduction): Vica faba is divided into three main botanical groups according to the size of the seed (small seed "Vicia faba minor"; intermediate size seed "Vicia faba equina", large seed "Vicia faba major") why didn't the Authors make this distinction? - the second (in the introduction): to add the role of insects (bees) in the cross-pollinations of the Vicia faba - the third (methods, results and conclusions): among the 410 accessions studied, how many are V. faba major?how many are V. faba equina? and how many are V. faba minor? Was a distinction made for the seed weight? Could there be a relationship between seed weight and the clusters that were seen by the analysis?

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

The paper for the most part is well written, but there are some language corrections that need to be made to make it clearer. You also need to ensure that all tables are able to stand independently.  Also mentioning the origin of the American population would be useful.
