Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

  • I am not sure whether this article reflects a review. It is partially a review, partially a perspective, partially a comment..
  • The language of the manuscript should be revised.

Besides these two minor comments, it is a nice summary that is strongly recommended for publication. The authors may want to think to use a broader title, which might be interesting to get some more citations...

Author Response

Thank you for your comments and advices.

The content of the paper follows a discussion with the editor of the special issue. According your question about the "type of paper" we propose a modified title in order to clarify the intention and describe more precisely the content :

"Rethinking tribology – Tracking trends, their presence at the ECOTRIB ’19 conference, and their impact on the tribology research in Austria".

As well, we have checked the text by a native speaker, some minor modifications have been made. Thus we assume the paper is acceptable in the revised style.

Kind regards

Reviewer 2 Report

It is well written and comprehensive review based on the ECOTRIB ’19 conference, and nice preview on the research program of "inTribology". It should be accepted as the current form.

Reviewer 3 Report

This is a well written conference report highlighting the topic areas presented at the ECOTRIB conference and an introduction to the Austrian InTribology programme. It is quite informative.
