Reviewer 1 Report

This article is of high interest for the community and meets the standards and requirements of the Physchem. I have only a few minor comments.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors present an interesting concept to study water polymorphism. I suggest to provide a schematic phase diagram as Figure 1, which would make it easier for the reader to follow the arguments. It was not clear to me whether the authors performed own MD simulations or whether they discussed MD simulations from the literature. According to the acknowledgement own simulations were conducted but in the text no details are given.

Referee 2 Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors present an interesting concept to study water polymorphism.

I suggest to provide a schematic phase diagram as Figure 1, which would make it easier for the reader to follow the arguments.

In agreement with the referee and following his suggestion we have added this figure.

It was not clear to me whether the authors performed own MD simulations or whether they discussed MD simulations from the literature.

We have considered only results and suggestions from literature MD simulations.

According to the acknowledgement own simulations were conducted but in the text no details are given.

These are the initials of the second author which by mistake are reported as MD rather than DM (error now corrected in the text).
