Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking Special Issue on Symbiotic Intelligence: Exploring the AI–IoT Nexus. This Special Issue aims to delve into the intricate and transformative relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), focusing on the symbiotic integration of these two dynamic domains. Our primary objective is to explore the synergies that emerge when AI and IoT converge, unlocking new possibilities, addressing challenges, and fostering innovation in the realm of symbiotic intelligence.

Scope and Focus:

This Special Issue invites contributions that unravel the multifaceted dimensions of the AI–IoT nexus. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  1. Symbiotic modeling and fusion: investigating innovative approaches for the seamless integration of AI and IoT models to enhance intelligence and decision-making capabilities.
  2. Edge and fog computing in symbiotic systems: exploring the role of edge and fog computing in optimizing the symbiotic relationship between AI and IoT, enabling real-time processing and analysis.
  3. Symbiotic learning algorithms: advancements in machine learning and deep learning algorithms tailored for symbiotic intelligence, facilitating adaptive and context-aware systems.
  4. Interconnected ecosystems: examining the development and deployment of interconnected AI and IoT ecosystems, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and mutual enrichment.
  5. Ethical considerations and responsible AI in symbiotic contexts: addressing ethical implications, privacy concerns, and responsible AI practices in the symbiotic integration of AI and IoT technologies.
  6. Scalability and performance optimization: strategies and methodologies for ensuring scalability, efficiency, and optimal performance in large-scale AI–IoT symbiotic environments.

Objectives of this Special Issue:

This Special Issue aims to achieve several key objectives:

  • Advance knowledge: contribute to the evolving understanding of symbiotic intelligence by showcasing cutting-edge research and innovative solutions at the intersection of AI and IoT.
  • Facilitate collaboration: provide a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and experts from AI, IoT, and related fields to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
  • Real-world impact: emphasize practical applications, case studies, and implementation guidelines to bridge the gap between theoretical research and impactful real-world deployments.
  • Guidelines for best practices: encourage the development of best practices and guidelines for the responsible and effective integration of AI and IoT in symbiotic systems.
  • Holistic exploration: offer a holistic exploration of the AI–IoT nexus, considering technological, social, and ethical aspects and promoting a comprehensive understanding of the symbiotic intelligence landscape.

This Special Issue builds upon the existing body of knowledge by providing a platform for in-depth exploration at the intersection of AI and IoT, fostering collaboration, and offering practical insights into the symbiotic intelligence paradigm.

We invite researchers, practitioners, and experts to contribute their original research, case studies, and insights to make this Special Issue on symbiotic intelligence a cornerstone in the evolving narrative of AI–IoT integration.
