J. Imaging 2020-2021 Travel Awards (400 CHF)
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that J. Imaging will be awarding 2020-2021 Travel Awards for junior scientists. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from the J. Imaging Editorial Board.
This prize provides financial support for the winners to attend an international conference in the field of imaging to be held in 2020-2021, in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.
Candidates’ Requirements:
– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students.
– Plans to attend an international conference in 2020-2021 (oral presentation or poster).
Required Application Documents:
1. Information of the conference the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted.
2. Curriculum Vitae and list of publications.
3. Justification letter describing the focus of the research (max. 800 words).
4. Letter of recommendation from the supervisor, research director, or department head, which also confirms the applicant’s status as a postdoctoral fellow/ PhD student.
The winners (two awardees) will each be awarded 400 CHF and a certificate.
Please submit your applications for the J. Imaging 2020-2021 Travel Awards online by 1 June 2021. Prizes will be awarded at the end of June 2021 and announced on the J. Imaging website.

J. Imaging 2019 Travel Awards
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Evaluation Committee, we are pleased to announce the two winners of the Journal of Imaging 2019 Travel Award. The awards were granted to Mr. Grigorios Chrysos, a Ph.D. student at Imperial College London, and Dr. Hai Zhang, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto. The award recipients will receive 400 Swiss Francs each to support their attendance at any academic conference on the related areas in 2019.
Mr. Grigorios Chrysos is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computing, Imperial College London. His interests lie at the intersection of statistical machine learning and computer vision.
Dr. Hai Zhang is a postdoctoral fellow in mechanical and industrial engineering at the University of Toronto. His recent research focuses on the development of a 3D photothermal coherence tomography (3D PCT) technique.
With so many high-quality applicants, selecting the recipients of the awards was a difficult decision, and we would like to thank the Evaluation Committee for their excellent work in selecting the winners from such a
large pool of excellent candidates. We wish to congratulate the winners for their accomplishments.

J. Imaging 2018 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Imaging, on behalf of the Evaluation Committee, I am pleased to announce that the winner of the Journal of Imaging 2018 Travel Award is Mr. Aviad Levis, a PhD student at the Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, who will be supported with 800 Swiss Francs towards his travel expenses to attend IEEE 2018 Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), to be held in Salt Lake City, USA, 18-22 June 2018.
Mr. Aviad Levis is a PhD candidate at Viterbi Faculty of Electrical Engineering,Technion—Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. His research is in 3D imaging, computer vision, and microscopy. Mr. Levis has been invited to give talks in international conferences, sometimes as a sole author. His paper “Statistical Tomography of Microscopic Life” has been accepted to the IEEE 2018 Conf. on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR).
This was a difficult decision with such high quality applications for the award, and we would like to thank all applicants for submitting their diverse and thought-provoking presentations.

J. Imaging 2017 Outstanding Reviewer Award (500 CHF)
The following referee has been selected by the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Imaging, Prof. Dr. Gonzalo Pajares Martinsanz, to receive the “Journal of Imaging 2017 Outstanding Reviewer Award” for the quantity, timeliness and quality of his reviews in 2017.
