Special Issue Information

Materials science and engineering is advancing at a very rapid pace. Biomaterials, composites, electronic materials, materials for aeronautics and space applications, materials for civil infrastructure and transportation, materials for energy conversion and storage, and polymers are just a few examples of relevance in present day science and technology. With a view to provide a global forum for dissemination of the state of the art in the research and development of materials, devices, structures, systems and applications, an International Conference (AMEE 2021) is being held in Nanjing, China, from the 27th of December to the 30th of December, 2021. The conference is expected to bring experts from across the globe to share the results of their study.

Dear Colleagues,

The International Conference on Advanced Materials and Engineering (AMEE 2021):
http://www.icamee.com is being held in Nanjing, China, from December 27th to the 30th of this year.

Motivation and Justification for the Special Issue:

A fundamental premise in materials science and engineering is that properties and performance are the consequence of structure, and that structure is the consequence of the processes. With a macro view of advancements in materials science and engineering, this conference seeks to publish peer-reviewed papers in Materials. The scope of the conference is broad. Manuscripts that report the results of research relating to the following are expected to be presented at the conference from scientists from around the world:

  • Advanced energy technologies;
  • Materials;
  • Materials engineering;
  • Nanotechnology;
  • Renewable energy.

The submission of manuscripts to Materials will be by invitation from the Editor. Each manuscript will be peer reviewed by experts in the field before consideration for publication in Materials. We are aiming for a total of about 40 articles in these Special Issues, and will reach out to a few other individuals who are conducting cutting-edge research in these domains in the very near future.

Dr. N.M. Ravindra, Professor of Physics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the General Chair of AMEE 2021 will be the Editor of the proposed volume of materials Special Issue: AMEE2021 - https://0-www-mdpi-com.brum.beds.ac.uk/journal/materials. He will work with Prof. Ramaswamy Nagarajan and the conference organizers and personnel at MDPI to select manuscripts for submission to Materials and subsequent peer review in preparation for consideration for publication in Materials.

With an Impact Factor of 3.623, Materials is one of the leading journals in materials science and engineering in the world.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
