Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The 15th Annual Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC) will take place 21–24 October 2020 in Boston, MA, USA. Full details about the conference can be found at https://www.cardiometabolichealth.org/2020/boston-15th-annual.html. This Special Issue will be made up of papers presented at the conference. Only papers to be presented at the conference as poster presentations will be considered for publication in this Special Issue. As part of the submission process, please state both the title and number of your abstract to be presented at the 15th Annual CMHC in your cover letter to the journal.

The global epidemic of metabolic syndromes, a constellation of cardiometabolic risk factors, as well as obesity, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and NAFLD/NASH, have become a worldwide modern-day health hazard.  As these diseases and risk factors exist in a continuum, they cannot be treated in silos, which is unfortunately what tends to happen in clinical practice.  The Cardiometabolic Health Congress has been at the forefront of educating clinicians about the whole spectrum of cardiometabolic disease and practical ways to address them. Since its founding in 2006, CMCH has grown to be the largest US-based multidisciplinary conference focused solely on the prevention and management of cardiometabolic disease.

As an extension of CMHC, this Special Issue will emphasize the complexities, challenges, and advancements in this field. It aims to give clinicians an additional platform to access articles that represent new updates in cardiometabolic health. Contributions will reflect the cross-disciplinary nature of the field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Medical Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs).
