Nanostructured Materials and Nanotechnologies for Green Synthesis

Nanotechnology is the most innovative and versatile scientific discipline of the twenty-first century. Its applications cross scientific frontiers from medicine to electronics to advanced materials synthesis with the potential and vision capable of significantly modifying modern lifestyles, society, and world economy. Nanoscience plays also a key role in modern sustainable chemistry, due to the enhanced performance of nanomaterials over their bulk counterparts, and green chemistry, green nanotechnology, and green engineering are considered amongst the ultimate needs of civilization today. Therefore, the design of benign synthetic processes promoted by new and advanced nanomaterials remains a frontier topic in modern research that faces substantial challenges.

This Special Issue of Molecules aims to shed light on the interface between nanoscience and sustainability by collecting reviews, communications, and research articles dealing with the applications of nanostructured materials and nanotechnologies to the widest range of green synthetic processes, ranging from the more traditional organic and inorganic transformations to the more innovative synthetic approaches based on green chemistry and circular economy principles (atom-economy, biomass valorisation, energy saving, wastes recycling, renewable resources, green extraction technologies, microfluidics, and so on).

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
