Dear Colleagues,
Even though pediatric cancer is a rare disease, it is a major cause of death for children. Unfortunately, due to the rarity of the disease, understanding its etiologies has been difficult. Much progress has been made in this area, especially with the setup of large consortiums that allow for the pooling of data from multiple sites, but there are still many unanswered questions. Improving our understanding of pediatric cancer risk factors would present an opportunity for enhancing pediatric cancer prevention.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in this Special Issue “Pediatric Cancer: Risk Factors and Prevention”, which will be published in Pediatric Reports (ISSN 2036-7503) a journal that aims to promote the dissemination of research in the pediatric field. Having a Special Issue on pediatric cancer will attract the attention of researchers worldwide, and may result in more international pediatric consortia collaborations, which could enable the further identification of potential risk factors.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research topics may include (but are not limited to) the various pediatric cancers, types of etiological factors, and the generation and use of research consortia.
This Special Issue aims to highlight what is known about different types of pediatric cancers and their risk factors (genetic, lifestyle, and environmental), the timing of exposures and genetic events (in utero, postnatal), opportunities for research through large pediatric consortia, and meta-analyses of existing data.
We aim to have a finished product for publication by June 2024.
We hope to receive abstracts before 20 December 2023.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Pediatric Reports is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
