Clinical Hematology and Practice in Small Animals

Dear Colleagues,

I am glad to announce the Special Issue of Veterinary Sciences on the topic "Clinical Hematology and Practice in Small Animals" is open for contributions.

Clinical hematology performed on animals can be used for the diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Clinical hematology refers to the study of the numbers and morphology of blood cells, e.g., the red blood cells (erythrocytes), the white blood cells (leukocytes), platelets (thrombocytes), etc.

With changing standards of veterinary care and the development of new technologies, veterinary clinical hematology faces many challenges. Such as the latest and most widely used clinical instruments, and providing information and advice on reliable hematology results in small animals. From practical considerations, it is obvious that a great deal of theory and research is needed to support the clinical significance, as well as address the risk of some hematological abnormalities to determine the prognosis of sick small animals through therapeutic intervention.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews with an update on the most recent advances in small animals clinical hematology are welcome. We look forward to receiving your contributions.
