Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Abstract:

“Symmetric triangular linear frequency modulation continuous wave (STLFMCW)” should be written as “ Symmetric Triangular Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (STLFMCW)”, please check all abbreviations in the paper.

Please quantify the accuracy of the suggested approach.

Introduction

Scholars at home and abroad have conducted extensive research on motion error compensation: Please remove “Scholars at home and abroad”, and make the sentence passive voice.

Abbreviations defined in the abstract should be redefined again in the rest of the paper, e.g., RCM should be refined in the first passage of the paper, please check all abbreviations.

Materials and Methods

Please don’t put two section titles consecutively, you must add a transition paragraph between them, please check all the paper.

FMCW SAL System

Line 99: Reference [17], wrong citation method, please follow author guidelines to check all your citations.

Figure 1: Please define abbreviations that appear in Figure 1 in the figure caption.

The paper should be checked linguistically, e.g., Line 108 “of an radio” should be “of a radio”

Analysis of Motion Error in Positive and Negative Frequency Modulation Signals of STLFMCW

If you develop any equation, please explain how you develop it, if not, please add reference(s) (please check all equations in the paper).

Then the received signal and reference signal are coherently mixed to obtain the dechirp signal shown by the blue curve. è please explain how mixing can be realized.

Line 186: please remove “Generally speaking”.

Please check all equation parameters are defined under them.

Results and Discussion

Please avoid using (we, our, and us), use the passive voice. Please check the paper.

please define abbreviations that appear in Table 1 underneath the table.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1) This article proposes a method of segmenting interference on positive and negative frequency modulation signals to estimate motion errors, and proposes a series of solutions to the problem of interference phase wrapping. Regarding whether the phase wrapping problem only exists as an accidental phenomenon in this article’s experiment or as a common phenomenon in SAL, does the method proposed by the author have universality and robustness? The author should explain this in this article.

 2) When calculating the interference phase, can the author simply unwrap the calculated interference phase, such as directly applying the "unwrap" function provided by Matlab?

 3) There is no corresponding explanation for the variable symbols calibrated in Figure 13, and the author should provide a brief explanation in the text or in the figure.

 4) Section 3.3.2 first introduced the method of separating and extracting positive and negative frequency modulation signals from triangular waves. Why can the method of circular shift be used to separate positive and negative frequency modulation signals? What conclusion does Figure 15 illustrate?

 5) The conclusion needs to state very clear if the goals (defined in the introduction) were achieved or not, and the reasons. Some outlook and future work can also be mentioned (for instance, in order to overcome the limitations).

 6) English writing needs improvement, some of the content seems to be rigidly translated from Chinese.
