I kindly ask you to provide a source where the results of the previous
studies mentioned in line 114 are available. Please also complete the
information so far, there have been studies confirming the effectiveness
of the smoke detector.

In this paper, the effect of smoke detectors on smoke particles and detection characteristics in space stations with different gravity field variations and with or without inter-module ventilation (IMV) flow is investigated by numerical simulation techniques. However, this paper suffers from the following problems.

  1. The authors have padded the introduction section with a lot of background information, resulting in the entire introduction being rather drawn out. The introduction part should refine the background part and highlight the innovation point, and the authors are suggested to condense the introduction part.
  2. The similarity of the line patterns of the two materials in Figure 3 leads to a rather messy picture. It is suggested that the author distinguish between two types of lines.
  3. The authors use equation (5) and equation (6) to express the equation of combustion reaction of ABS and PVC materials, the amount of reactants and products of the equation is a large gap, how the authors proposed these two equations according to Table 1, it is recommended that the authors elaborate.
  4. The authors used FDS to investigate different gravity and inter-module ventilation (IMV) flow. Did the authors consider whether the FDS is still accurate considering both the gravity model and the flow velocity model?
  5. When calculating with numerical simulations, mesh independence analysis should be added to improve the repeatability of the simulation.
