Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The interest in the biomechanics of fitness training is growing. This Special Issue will help us to understand the biomechanics principles applied to physical training, focusing on biomechanical analysis, mechanical power and mechanical work, quantification by news technologies and the planification of physical training, based on mechanical power, to optimize the goals of training sessions.

Original research on the analysis of biomechanical principles of fitness exercises and techniques are welcome to improve the knowledge in this field, ranging from theoretical research works to practical case studies. The purpose is to present the most recent research on fitness training biomechanics.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Biomechanical analysis of strength training exercises.
  • Application of mechanical power and mechanical work in training planning.
  • Use of technology based on biomechanical criteria for the quantification of strength training.
  • Biomechanical evaluation of high-intensity training techniques.
  • Optimization of technique in fitness exercises through biomechanics.
  • The role of biomechanics in the prevention and rehabilitation of fitness injuries.
  • Biomechanics of flexibility and stretching exercises in fitness.
  • Application of biomechanics to design personalized training.
  • Effect of individual variations in biomechanics during fitness training.
  • Use of biomechanics in the design of fitness training equipment.
  • Evaluation and monitoring of training effectiveness using biomechanical analysis.
  • Advances in wearable technology and its application in fitness biomechanics.
  • The role of biomechanics-based training in improving performance in specific sports.
  • Interaction between biomechanics and physiology in fitness training.
  • Biomechanics of fitness training in special populations (elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities).

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Bioengineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
