We are pleased to announce the 8th International Electronic Conference on Sensors and Applications. After the success of the seven editions from 2014 to 2020, this year edition will focus on four thematic areas where sensors are changing science:
- Chemo- and Biosensors (Session A)
- Physical Sensors (Session B)
- Sensor Networks (Session C)
- Applications (Session D)
There will be eight specific sessions:
- S1. Structural Health Monitoring Technologies and Sensor Networks
- S2. Wearable Sensors
- S3. Smart Cities
- S4. Optical Sensors
- S5. Sensing and Imaging
- S6. Vehicular Sensing
- S7. Positioning and Navigation
- S8. Sensing for Robotics and Automation
and also a Poster session. Posters can be presented without an accompanying proceedings paper and will be available online on this website during and after the e-conference. However, they will not be added to the proceedings of the conference.
The 8th International Electronic Conference on Sensors and Applications is sponsored by MDPI and the scientific journal Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220, IF 3.275). The conference proceedings papers and presentations will be available on https://ecsa-8.sciforum.net/ for discussion during 1-15 November 2021 and will be published in the journal Engineering Proceedings.
We hope the community will share this enthusiasm and help making this 8th edition a success—for many to come in the future.
17–19 November 2021 8th International Symposium on Sensor Science - China
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the 8th International Symposium on Sensor Science—China (I3S-CN 2021). The conference is organized by the MDPI open access journal Sensors (Impact Factor 3.275), and will be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China from 17 to 19 November 2021.
With the finding and artificial synthesis of new recognition elements, the significant advancement in the synthesis of nanomaterials and understanding of their properties, and the innovation of signal transduction principles, sensor science has become one of the most active research areas. This conference will provide leading scientists working in this field with a platform to share their latest research and engage in exciting discussions.
The main topics of the conference include:

The symposium invites submissions for abstracts that will be reviewed by the conference committee. The authors of accepted contributions will be invited to submit a conference paper along with a slide or poster presentation of their works. All participants will have the opportunity to examine, explore, and critically engage with research during the symposium.
During the symposium, a number of renowned speakers will share their current state-of-the-art research, which will also include a Q&A session to allow audience participation.
After the conference, all accepted conference papers will be published in the proceedings of this Symposium within a dedicated issue of the MDPI journal Engineering Proceedings. In addition, all participants will be encouraged to submit an extended full manuscript to one dedicated Special Issue in Sensors with a 500 CHF discount on the Article Processing Charge (APC).
We hope that you will join this Symposium to exchange ideas, communicate fruitful collaborations, and make this eighth edition in China a success.

The Europt(r)ode XV is postponed from 2020. The conference will be organised according to all safety regulations which will apply in this term. Our goal is to run it in person, however an on-line option will also be available.
EUROPTODE XV covers all aspects of optical chemical sensors and biosensors
This is an extremely interdisciplinary event. Participants include: chemists, biochemists, biologists, medical doctors, physicists, electronic and optoelectronic engineers, and many others. The thematic scope of the conference includes optical and optoelectronic sensors for applications in chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, environmental protection, food analysis, and many others. There is no similar event that would present such an extensive thematic offer, and thus give a complete overview of all current trends and applications of optical chemical and biochemical sensors.
12–15 December 2021 2021 the 16th IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (IEEE NMDC 2021)
Vancouver, BC, Canada
The 16th IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (IEEE NMDC 2021) will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada from December 12–15, 2021. IEEE NMDC 2021 will be co-located with the IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (IEEE CEIDP). The two conferences will hold joint sessions to highlight important work being pursued at the nexus of their respective disciplines.
The IEEE NMDC is a well-received international conference and has been held annually, with its location being rotated in different parts of the world; having the last two conferences were held in Stockholm, Sweden in 2019 and virtually (due to COVID-19 restrictions) from Nanjing in 2020. The IEEE NMDC aims to highlight current work and future directions in nanotechnology-related research in the areas of nanomaterials and fabrications, nanoelectronics, nano-energy, packaging, nanophotonics, bioengineering, modeling and simulation, devices, and integration. 28 August–2 September 2022 36th European and 12th International Peptide Symposium
Sitges (Barcelona), Spain
The 36th European and 12th International Peptide Symposium will be held at Sitges (Barcelona), Spain, from August 28 to September 2, 2022.
The meeting, themed "From Peptides to the World”, will be an ideal occasion for academia and industry scientists from all over the world to learn and discuss about the thriving field of peptide science, exchanging ideas, creating new alliances, meeting old –and making new– friends.
The 36EPS scientific committee has set out to assemble an exciting program with a broad range of topics covering, among others, advances in peptide chemistry and structure, bioactive peptides and their therapeutic applications, and peptide biomaterials, nanotechnology and delivery. In addition, associated satellite meetings and workshops will take place.
The conference will take place at the Melià Sitges, a leading hotel and convention center with a 1200-seat auditorium and 4,000 square meters for commercial exhibition, poster sessions and coffee breaks, all within the pleasant setting of a 300-room establishment with outdoor pool, gardens and terraces overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
