The Hippo Signaling Pathway in Cell Biology

Dear Colleagues,

The cell cycle, a fundamental process within every organism, holds paramount importance in maintaining tissue homeostasis throughout growth and development. Precise control of the cell cycle is crucial, as any aberrations can lead to abnormal development and various diseases, including cancer. The highly conserved Hippo pathway emerges as a pivotal player in the regulation of organ size, tissue equilibrium, and cancer development. Recent studies have indicated the involvement of the Hippo pathway in cell cycle regulation in various ways. Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway exacerbates the loss of cell cycle control, thereby promoting oncogenic processes. However, how the Hippo pathway influences cell cycle progression is still not fully understood.

This Special Issue will aim to understanding how the Hippo pathway modulates the cell cycle in the molecular basis of cancer development, drug resistance, and organ development. This Special Issue could have far-reaching implications for potential targeted therapeutic strategies and the development of innovative anticancer therapeutics.
