International and Comparative Studies in Education

Dear Colleagues,

International and Comparative Education is a multidisciplinary and leading discipline aiming to understand the issues that shape the development and paths of education systems. It concerns policymaking, implementation, assessment, and other related debates on educational processes across the globe, which have become significant in informing people about new perspectives in knowledge production and transfer.

Recent developments in technology, the formation of economic groups, geo-political shifts, migration, and religious and linguistic issues have led policymakers and researchers to employ international and comparative education to find solutions to related challenges. In addition, the experiences of other countries, systems, and institutions in educational sciences have been important sources of motivation for researchers and other stakeholders in conducting international and comparative studies of education to discover new and better ideas, policies, and practices.

Thus, this Special Issue is intended to serve as a collection of studies from different countries focused on the challenges we are facing in education and the experiences of different countries or regions, which could render possible solutions to some of the challenges faced in other parts of the world. Hence, this Special Issue welcomes contributions that provide educational experiences and practices of different countries/regions through innovative research methods, well-organized investigations, and rigorous reviews. These contributions may be empirical (qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed method) or theoretical (review) studies focusing on all levels of education, i.e., from early childhood to higher education.

Submissions that consider comparative education, educational policy, educational practice, educational assessment, internationalization of education, sociology of education, politics of education, and religion in education are welcome.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Education Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
