Topical Collection Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Topical Collection is in cooperation with the IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering series. In this Topical Collection, we publish expanded high-quality conference papers selected at the annual conference EEEIC for free. Authors will also receive a Best Paper Certificate.

In general, the extended paper is expected to follow the following guidelines:

1) Authors should note that the extended paper should conform to the scope of the journal. Ideas should be included demonstrating how the paper addresses a particular complex system. 2) The paper should not have more than a 40% overlap with the conference paper in terms of figures, tables and equations, not text. All comments from the conference review may be addressed in detail. To ensure an expedited review, the cover letter should summarize the key changes from the conference paper, especially in response to the reviewer comments. 3) Preferably, the title, abstract, introduction and figures should all be revised. These should reflect how the paper differs from the conference paper. 4) The background material should be significantly enhanced. 5) More results may be added and discussion may be significantly expanded/enhanced. 6) Whole paragraphs must not be copied in the journal paper—even if the paper contains other non-trivial changes. 7)The overall plagiarism level of paper should be less than 20%. 8) In case of a review paper, the ending words of the title should be ": A review" or any similar word.

Topics of interest for this collection include, but are not limited to:

Load forecasting;

Forecasting of intermittent energy resources;

Wind and solar power forecasting;

Forecasting of demand (load) and price of electricity;

Load and generation forecasting in smart grid and microgrids;

Forecasting methods in energy planning models;

Forecasting methods for reliability;

Nonlinear systems;

Smart device and prediction of system reliability;

Predictive and prescriptive maintenance.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Forecasting is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
