Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Technology continues to pervade all aspects of the healthcare system and is used by healthcare professionals; patients; and their caregivers, public health workers, and other stakeholders. To effectively use these technologies in ways that will improve patient outcomes and public/population health outcomes, as well as showcase greater advancements in digital health, users must be trained on the design, implementation, use, and implications of use for digital health tools. This training is expected to be varied in nature, encompassing everything from didactic learning to experiential and practical training to even on-the-job education.

This Special Issue focuses on a broad definition of digital health.  Examples include, but are not limited to, the use of electronic health records and integrated technologies (e.g., clinical decision support); mobile health applications for use by patients and/or health care providers; the use of machine learning and/or artificial intelligence to support clinical decision-making and/or population health improvements; and the security, privacy, and interoperability of electronic health information.  All health and health-related professions are welcome to submit a manuscript for consideration, but all manuscripts must address educational efforts to support the advancement of digital health.
