Computer-Aided Intelligent Design and Graphics

Dear Colleagues,

Computer-aided design (CAD) and computer graphics (CG) technologies based on geometry have made significant contributions to the development of product modeling and simulation, optimization design, digital twin, virtual and augmented reality, film and computer animation, computer vision, robotics, etc. Meanwhile, the rapid development of artificial intelligence has injected new development momentum into CAD&CG technology. With the help of deep learning, design intentions can be understood from different types of data such as discrete point clouds, hand drawn sketches, and color images, achieving intelligent CAD&CG. This enriches the data sources of designs and makes design methods more flexible and intelligent. This Special Issue provides a platform for the exhibition and exchange of academic achievements on the integration of CAD, CG with artificial intelligence, computational design, computer vision, and robotics. Topics of interest for this Special Issue include but are not limited to the following:

• Mathematical models, representations, and algorithms for shapes, solids, structures, and assemblies;
• Three-dimensional geometric reconstruction, including sketch-based modeling, image-based modeling, points-based modeling;
• Applications of artificial intelligence in CAD&CG, including neural networks and machine learning;
• CAD&CG integrated with virtual reality, augmented reality, film, computer animation, product design, fabrication, inspection, digital twin, and human–computer interaction.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
