Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to contribute to this Special Issue “Combinatorial Optimization Models for Operations with Trucks and Drones Systems”, in the journal Mathematics. Efficiently routing heterogeneous delivery systems, comprising trucks and drones, represents a promising research direction in logistics, transportation, emergency management, agriculture, etc. Such complex delivery programs are found by solving new and rich problems, based on old and well-known combinatorial optimization problems. High-quality papers are expected to address both theoretical and practical aspects in this research direction. Potential models and applications include but are not limited to last-mile parcel deliveries, searching in remote areas, area coverage for precise agriculture, and operational characteristics of drone swarms.
