Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases are leading health issues worldwide and are related to the rising prevalence of obesity. As lifestyle measures have had limited success, research has progressed towards identifying the potential novel mechanisms/targets in cardiometabolic diseases. There is cumulating evidence that the adrenal endocrine system—particularly the glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid systems and associated receptors—can play important roles in the regulation of fat mass, glucose homeostasis and cardiovascular health via changes in adipose tissue metabolism, inflammatory cells profile and cardiac remodeling.

This Special Issue aims to publish original research and review articles, both in clinical and laboratory science, advancing our knowledge on the interplays between the adrenal endocrine system, inflammation and cardiometabolic health.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website.
