Upcoming Partner Conferences (3)

5–6 August 2024 2024 Inaugural Conference of the Society for the Study of Measurement

Berkeley, CA, USA

The International 2024 Inaugural Conference of the Society for the Study of Measurement will be held in person at the University of California, Berkeley, on August 5–6, 2024.

The Conference of the Society for the Study of Measurement is an interdisciplinary conference that explores the philosophy and history of measurement. It aims to consolidate and develop the study of these topics, following previous conferences that predate the foundation of the Society in Bielefeld (2013), Cambridge (2015), Paris (2018), and Milan (2022). It will bring together philosophers, historians, sociologists, psychometricians, and metrologists to address questions related to measurement across disciplines ranging from the natural sciences to the human sciences.

24–26 September 2024 The 3D Metrology Conference 2024

Loughborough, UK

The 3D Metrology Conference is an annual event focused on technologies and applications relating to industrial 3D metrology. Since 2016, it has taken place in Germany, the UK and Spain (the Basque Country). The 2024 event will return to the UK, where it will be hosted by the Intelligent Automation Centre at Loughborough University.

The conference is strongly industry-focused and is not a conventional academic event. Real-life applications have a high priority in the programme where technical presentations mostly take the form of talks and poster displays. However, research and development are still well represented, and presenters of R&D topics also have the option of submitting an associated paper for publication in MDPI’s journal Metrology.

Presented topics cover a wide 3D spectrum centred on portable and large-object measurement and typically include X-ray CT and surface topography measurements at small-scales. In fact, any interesting 3D problem is open to presentation, whether it is in cultural heritage, entertainment or something else.

12–13 December 2024 OPTICAL 3D METROLOGY Workshop 2024

Brescia, Italy

O3DM is a biannual workshop devoted to precise 3D measurement and accurate modelling from imaging and range sensors. O3DM is focused on the growing interest in processing and modelling technology, and the increasing demand for accurate 3D models in applications such as industrial inspection, aerospace and automotive design, material and component testing, scene documentation, motion analysis, medicine and the exploration of remote and hazardous sites, just to name a few.

The workshop features keynote speakers, technical presentations and poster sessions. The workshop is sponsored by ISPRS and technical papers will be published in the ISPRS Archives. O3DM will be held in conjunction with the LowCost 3D workshop.
