Dear colleagues,
Globally, antibiotic resistance represents a serious public health problem with a strong clinical and economic impact. From a “One health” perspective, all health-related joint actions aimed at finding new resources with antimicrobial activity are very important for the near future. Furthermore, to reduce the development of resistance to antibiotics, studies to find alternative natural treatments to the current pharmacological treatments currently used in human and veterinary medicine, agronomy and environmental hygiene are important. Essential oils are an inexhaustible source of natural substances obtained from aromatic plants potentially useful for the development of antimicrobial formulations. Manuscripts studying the effectiveness of formulations based on essential oils alone or mixed with no-longer-effective antimicrobial drugs, together with those aimed at identifying the best delivery for essential oils, are welcome. Manuscripts without quality analyses of essential oils will not be accepted.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
