Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue (SI) is associated with the APMG2023 Symposium. APMG is the Portuguese Association of Meteorology and Geophysics, an independent and non-profit association that brings together students, researchers, professionals and amateurs and aims, among other objectives, to contribute to the teaching, research and application of meteorological sciences, geophysics and related areas.
The symposium is a biannual forum where students and scientists can present and discuss their ideas and latest results with other expert geoscientists. Manuscripts regarding the research advances of meteorology, geophysics and related areas can be submitted to the symposium, as well as to the special theme of 2023, “Data Science in Meteorology and Geophysics”. This will be a joint Special Issue of Climate and Remote Sensing. The Special Issue is dedicated to the authors participating in the symposium, but may also include submissions from researchers in the areas of APMG and the special theme of the symposium.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Instrumentation, technology, observation, and remote sensing;
- Monitoring, modelling and early warning systems;
- Radiation and composition of the atmosphere;
- Meteorology/climatology applied to human and natural systems;
- Fire weather;
- Climate variability and climate change;
- Renewable energy;
- Seismology and volcanology;
- Applied geophysics and geodesy;
- Data science, big data computation and analysis.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Remote Sensing is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
