Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Biological samples such as blood, serum, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and urine, are complex mixtures, whose analysis requires biosensing technologies for the identification of specific target molecules. For this reason, molecular recognition is a main function of biosensors. Antibodies are widely employed bioreceptors because of their highly specific antigen binding capacity. Immunosensors utilize an antibody layer as a molecular recognition layer to measure signals produced upon analyte binding, using various methods including electrochemical, optical, thermal, piezoelectrical, magnetic techniques. In addition to antibodies, other bioreceptors such as enzymes, aptamers, DNA, and RNA are broadly incorporated in the molecular recognition layer of biosensors. These immunosensors and chemosensors are utilized in various applications including medical diagnosis, drug discovery, environmental monitoring, and prosthetic devices. This Special Issue will focus on recent developments of immunosensors and chemosensors.
We are delighted to invite you to submit original research papers and review articles related to the application of antibodies or their derivatives in biosensing devices.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
