Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This symposium hosted in Torrent (Valencia)—Spain is the sixth international symposium on “RECENT ADVANCES IN QUANTITATIVE REMOTE SENSING”, organised by the Global Change Unit, University of Valencia.

Papers should deal, in general, with recent advances and applications of the different techniques and research methods used in remote sensing. Authors of selected high-quality papers from the conference will be invited to submit extended versions of their original papers (50% extensions of contents of the conference paper). In addition to the RAQRS 2020 papers, other independent submissions are also welcome. All the submissions should, in particular, cover one or more of the following topics:

  1. Land surface radiation and inversion modelling
  2. Multispectral and hyperspectral remote sensing and imaging spectroscopy
  3. Multiangular and multitemporal measurements
  4. Scaling, fusion, reduction and assimilation of data
  5. Advances in consolidated datasets of essential climate variables and their impact arising from the climate change initiative
  6. Carbon and water cycle observation and modelling
  7. Land cover/use and change
  8. From R&D to operational agricultural monitoring
  9. Urban heat island
  10. Global change and sustainable development
  11. Remote sensing of snow and ice in the visible, infrared, and microwave wavelength
  12. Sensor calibration, atmospheric correction, and product validation
  13. Passive and actives microwaves data processing and applications
  14. Laser remote sensing
  15. Passive and active fluorescence
  16. Close range remote sensing
  17. Earth observation missions and services

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
