Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Biodiversity loss continues to be a global challenge. One of the main causes is habitat loss and ecosystem degradation. The protection of suitable habitats, but also the restoration of degraded habitats, therefore play important roles in the protection of biodiversity. In addition, concepts of sustainable land use and sustainable ecosystem management are needed which combine conservation goals and human interests.

In this Special Issue, aspects of biodivesity and nature protection as well as possible solutions for sustainable ecosytsem management will be discussed. We welcome manscripts on the following topics:

- Ecosystem restoration and species protection

- Biodiversity conservation and sustainable land use

- Concepts for sustainable ecosystem management

- Innovative strategies for nature conservation

- Trade-offs in biodiversity conservation
