Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The concept of sustainability is very broad and can be approached from different perspectives. It includes a diverse range of ideas, such as the following: ecological sustainability, when we assume that nature is not an inexhaustible source of resources and that any development of a productive sector must avoid irreversible changes in the ecosystems where it is developed; social sustainability, when the development of different productive sectors satisfies the needs of all social groups in a community without compromising the needs of future generations; cultural sustainability, when a community is capable of retaining its cultural roots or adopting its own distinctive cultural characteristics in the face of the development of new sectors; and economic sustainability, which ensures the level of economic gain required for the sector to be viable.

All of the abovementioned ideas are visions of the concept of sustainability and can be applied to a multitude of terms and productive sectors. For this reason, the aim of this Special Issue, entitled "New trends in sustainability", is to develop research focused on sustainbility and related topics. This issue will therefore include papers such as those investigating green or blue infrastructures, the blue economy, circular economy, environmental services, social services, human wellbeing, health, cultural identity, governance, public policies, and corporate social responsibility, among others.
