Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce the opening of a new Special Issue in Sustainability, that will be entitled “Nutritional Sustainability for Youth Development”. This Special Issue will address different aspects, with the potential to advance in sustainable food systems, taking into account nutritional sustainability as a guiding concept. Therefore, given the high and growing prevalence of childhood obesity worldwide, one of the main topics of this issue will be the research on balanced nutrition that helps in the combat of obesity in children and adolescents, and which, in turn, have sustainable characters, from nutritional education in youth (to eat healthy and to choose sustainable food) to the impact that these diets have on the health of young people.

With this perspective, this Special Issue aims to contribute to science by presenting the most relevant and current research in this area. Some of the topics that are proposed are the following, however, other topics may be proposed by the authors:

  • Diet, physical exercise and health in youths.
  • Weight loss intervention programs.
  • Influence of genetics on childhood obesity.
  • Nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics.
  • Personalized and precision nutrition in children and adolescents.
  • Sustainable food systems.

I hope that this Special Issue will be of your interest, and you will contribute with your high-quality research.

Looking forward to reading your valuable results.

Best Regards,

Prof. Dr. Tara Rendo-Urteaga
Guest Editor
