(1) Introduction, including scientific background and highlighting the importance of this research area.

In an era marked by rapid urbanization, technological innovation, and heightened environmental awareness, traditional paradigms in urban governance, manufacturing practices, and business models are undergoing a profound transformation. The emergence of smart cities, leveraging data and digital technologies, aims to enhance efficiency, elevate citizens' quality of life, and mitigate environmental impact. Concurrently, advanced digital manufacturing is revolutionizing production processes, fostering customization, and boosting productivity. Within this dynamic landscape, sustainable business models are emerging as pivotal drivers of economic growth and environmental responsibility, all of which are explored in this Special Issue, 'Smart City Governance, Advanced Digital Manufacturing, and Sustainable Business Models: Navigating the Data-Driven Landscape for Urban Sustainability'.

(2)  Aim of the Special Issue and how the subject relates to the journal scope.

The Special Issue on Smart City Governance, Advanced Digital Manufacturing and Sustainable Business Models aims to explore the dynamic intersection of these three critical areas and their combined impact on the future of urban development, industrial processes and economic sustainability.

The aim of this Special Issue is to delve into the dynamic intersection of Smart City Governance, Advanced Digital Manufacturing, and Sustainable Business Models, unraveling their interconnected influence on the future of urban development, industrial processes, and economic sustainability. This exploration aligns seamlessly with the overarching goals and focus of Sustainability, as we seek to illuminate cutting-edge research at the nexus of technology, sustainability, and urban studies.

  6. Green Finance and Investment: Investigating financial mechanisms that support and drive sustainable initiatives in urban and industrial settings.
  7. Sustainable Tourism: Exploring practices and policies that promote sustainable tourism and its impact on urban ecosystems.
  8. Economic Resilience in Manufacturing: Assessing strategies for building economic resilience in the face of global challenges within the manufacturing sector.
  9. Collaborative Business Models: Examining models that foster collaboration among stakeholders for sustainable and inclusive business practices.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
