Supply Chain Management and International Trade

Dear Colleagues,

Supply chain management is a crucial component of any business’ success. It is important because it can increase a company’s efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability. At the same time, modern supply chains help improve living standards by enabling consumers to purchase necessary products at lower prices.

This Special Issue focuses on the broad topic of “Supply Chain Management and International Trade” and includes research methods and techniques for supply chain modeling, trade flow analysis, and strategic supply chain optimization.

It covers a wide range of research topics and areas. Empirical and theoretical articles dealing with issues such as the modeling and analysis of a supply chain network, international operations management, supply risk management, and the role of a supply chain in international trade flows are welcome.

In addition, research topics related to the field of the digitalization of supply chains also play an important role in this Special Issue. Novel scientific contributions focusing on the measurement of the future impacts of digitalization on sustainable supply chains, supply chain efficiency, supply chain resilience, and supply chain integration and performance by applying mathematical and econometric modeling are encouraged.

The role of supply chain management has become increasingly important under conditions of high uncertainties and risks, due to both empirical and theoretical reasons. Therefore, special attention in this Special Issue is paid to supply chain analysis in extraordinary circumstances, such as pandemics, economic crises, and inflation.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Strategic supply chain optimization;
• Global trade networks and supply chains;
• Supply chain performance;
• Supply chain management;
• Supply chain digitalization;
• Global value chains and trade.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
