The manuscript is clear and interesting. I found few details which should be improved.

There are values of radiation angle without units in the abstract. The same problem is in line 121 of the text. There are incorrect values of the LEDs area in line 61. There should be mentioned distance r0 as “on axis” distance, while r vector generally varies with angle.

Texts in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 are too small. It would be fine to complete the figure´s captions with LED sizes. There should be explained how the optical efficiency is evaluated. Put units on y axes of middle charts in Fig. 5.

 

I miss discussion related to the practical problems of the lens production. In reality, the lens has to be hold in a barrel. It causes the perimeter part of the analytical lens cannot be used for light refraction. It would affect the real performance of the lenses. If the condition for limiting the perimeter part of the lens would be incorporated into the algorithm, it would probably lead to another geometry of the ideal lenses.
