Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper studies the question of to what extent the two dimensional AdS throat of near extremal charged four dimensional black holes predict universal features. They find the answer depends on the specific of the theory of gravity and its matter content and sometimes the behavior is not universal. They discuss implications of this. The paper is well-written, interesting, original, and worth publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

I think the paper deserves publication: it addresses an interesting topic, it is well written and the analysis is complete.

Reviewer 3 Report

This is a good exposition of the spectrum of spacetimes in AdS_2 x S_2. The paper can be published.
