Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the ever-increasing demands for a higher data traffic volume and the massive number of connected devices, wireless communication systems are experiencing a revolution. To support these demands, millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) and Terahertz (THz) are two important spectral bands and enabling keys that provide many opportunities in a wide range of wireless communications. They have the characteristics of high carrier frequency, large communication capacity, favorable propagation conditions, good penetration, and no biological ionization. The objective of this Special Issue is to cover all aspects of mm-Wave/THz Technologies. It aims to highlight the recent advances, current trends, and future perspectives of mm-Wave/THz Technologies. We invite researchers to submit their original research or review papers in this area. Submissions should reflect the high quality of this international journal and should not have been submitted or published elsewhere. Extended versions of conference papers that show significant improvements (minimal of over 50%) can be considered for publication in this Special Issue.

Submissions can focus on conceptual and applied research in topics including but not limited to the following:

  • mm-Wave/THz on-chip component;
  • mm-Wave/THz wireless propagation;
  • Massive and ultra-massive MIMO;
  • Metamaterials, RIS, and metasurfaces;
  • ​mm-Wave/THz imaging and localization;
  • mm-Wave/THz transmission technologies;
  • Integrated ultra-high-speed digital devices;
  • mm-Wave/THz prototypes and implementations;
  • mm-Wave/THz sensing devices and components;
  • mm-Wave/THz measurements and system design;
  • mm-Wave/THz Antenna Design and Optimization;
  • mm-Wave/THz Applications in Security and Defense;
  • mm-Wave/THz AI-empowered Technologies for Smart Sensing;
  • mm-Wave/THz Channel Modeling, Waveform, and Receiver Design;
  • mm-Wave/THz Technologies for Internet of Things/Everything (IoT/IoE).

Submissions should reflect the high quality of this international journal and should not have been submitted or published elsewhere. Extended versions of conference papers that show significant improvement (minimum of over 50%) can be considered for publication in this Special Issue.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
